INSPIRATION OF THE BIBLE: The Bible is God's complete and total inerrant and infallible revelation to man and in the Bible we have everything God desires to reveal to man. Within the Bible itself, God has made it evident that He has given to us everything that we need to lead a Spirit-filled life.
THE PERSON OF GOD AND THE TRINITY: God is the Creator of Heaven and earth, perfect in Holiness, omniscient, rich in grace, supreme in love, and omnipotent. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all mankind, that He hears and answers prayers and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. God is three, no more and no less: God the Father, God the Son -Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.
THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST: Jesus is God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, sinless in His life, ever obedient to the will of the Father, and the only atonement for the sin of the world by His death (through the shedding of His blood) on the cross. He arose the third day, ascended into Heaven on the fortieth day, and is presently seated at the Father's right hand, as our High Priest and only Mediator, making intercession for His own. His return to the earth will be personal, visible, premillennial, pretribulational and is imminent according to His promise, which is the Blessed Hope.
THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is a Person co-equal with the Father and the Son in all His attributes, sent from the Lord Jesus Christ by God the Father to reprove the world of sin, to seal and regenerate all who receive Christ as personal Saviour, and to indwell, guide and teach them the things of God. He empowers the believer to live in victory over sin, self, Satan, and the world. He helps our infirmities and intercedes for us according to the will of God the Father.
THE FALL OF MAN: I believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of Adam's transgressions the whole human race fell. As a result of this, all men are totally depraved and without Christ, both by nature, and by choice. To die in this condition is to be damned forever, and eternally separated from God.
SALVATION OF SINNERS: Salvation is only in Christ. To obtain this salvation is to repent of one's sin toward God and to have faith towards Christ (to receive Him into the heart by faith). Salvation is by God's grace, a free gift, through the merits of the shed blood of the Son of God. Christ shed His blood for the sins of all mankind, not merely for a selected few. When one obtains salvation, he can never lose it. Salvation is also called the "new birth", being "born again" from above by the Word of God (the instrument), and the Spirit of God ( the Person).
ETERNAL SALVATION: When one obtains salvation, he can never be lost. The security of the believer rests in Christ's redemptive act as shown in God's Word in several places. Christ said we have everlasting life (John 5:24), and John told us that we have a record of eternal life (I John 5:11-13). Paul assures us of eternal life because nothing can separate us from Christ (Romans 8:35-39).
DOCTRINE OF HEAVEN AND HELL: Heaven and Hell are literal places, prepared of God as the only eternal abodes according to the Bible. All those who have been saved (born again) shall live eternally with God. All those without Christ (devoid of spiritual life) shall abide in the lake of fire forever, eternally separated from God.
DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH: The visible church is a local congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament principles, believing it's doctrines, observing it's two ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper, and exercising it's autonomy.
PREMILLENNIAL RETURN OF CHRIST: Christ will come again and physically set foot on the earth at the same place from which He departed (Acts 1:11). His return will take place at the end of the Seven Year Great Tribulation, when He will physically return bringing with Him the Body of Christ to set up and rule over the earth during the Millennium. At least seven years prior to His return to the earth, He will return in the air to rapture the true Church, which is imminent.
NEO-ORTHODOXY: Neo-orthodoxy started just after WWI as a reaction against liberalism. Karl Barth was the "prime mover" of the movement which takes it's position midway between liberalism and Orthodoxy. Of it's tenants, they hold that the Bible contains, not is God's Word. I am against it, just as I am against liberalism.
THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT: The ecumenical movement is one that brings the different religions of the world together. The goals of the movement are social reform based on humanism. The movement causes extreme compromise on the part of all concerned. I do not believe that a born again individual has any business in the movement, and that it is the beginnings of the ecclesiastical world power that is destroyed in Revelation Chapter Seventeen.
NEO-EVANGELISM: The modern evangelical movement began in the early 1940's and it was strongly committed to the fundamentals, and the inspiration of the Scripture. There are presently at least five areas that have caused it to move from fundamentalism: 1) the concepts of infallibility and inerrancy of the Scripture are replaced with the idea that the teaching rather than the text itself is without error; 2) a marked aversion to dispensationalism; 3) an emphasis in the social dimension of the Gospel; 4) a tendency to believe that the Kingdom of God can be established on earth primarily by human efforts working for political and social reform; 5) they hold dialogue with mainstream Ecumenical liberalism, other religions, and even Marxists. Neo-Evangelism embraces compromise which is what has caused it to stray.
